“Almost everyone at USD already has some knowledge of Scripture and Jesus. So we can’t go around saying ‘Hey, you Catholics need to come to Christ.’ Even though there are many Catholic students who have grown up culturally Catholic but don’t know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior,” said Scott Schimmel, when asked about the challenges of a Protestant ministry on a Catholic campus. “We are calling Catholics to faith.”

Bahai, Eastern Spirituality & More

I’d like to review a Bahai Center here in San Diego for the Reader. Here’s what Bahai’s site says about the faith:

We are Bah?°’??s – members of the Bah?°’?? Faith, the second most widespread of the world’s independent religions, established in 235 countries and territories throughout the world. We come from over 2,100 ethnic, racial, and tribal groups and number some 5 million worldwide.

For more than a century, Bah?°’?? communities around the globe have been working to break down barriers of prejudice between peoples and have collaborated with other like-minded groups to promote the model of a global society. At the heart of our belief is the conviction that humanity is a single people with a common destiny. In the words of Bah?°’u'll?°h, the Founder of our Faith, “The earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens.”

Bah?°’u'll?°h taught that there is one God Who progressively reveals His will to humanity. Each of the great religions brought by the Messengers of God – Moses, Krishna, Buddha, Zoroaster, Jesus, Muhammad – represents a successive stage in the spiritual development of civilization. Bah?°’u'll?°h, the most recent Messenger in this line, has brought teachings that address the moral and spiritual challenges of the modern world.

I was curious if any of you out there have dabbled with this or an Eastern religion?

Day 5 – We finally made it to the art tent at one of the resettlement camps… It was a hopeful place, but needs were already met, so we gave all the art supplies we brought to the church to use with the sea gypsy children.

Resurrection Sunday

Our view of Easter is often clouded behind traditions of men and religious terms. The message of the risen King who came to defeat sin, Satan, and death is lost in the cultural tide of our day. As a gathering of worshippers who seek to understand and embody this history changing and life altering news, our greatest desire is to come together with our family and friends to celebrate and hear this incredible story. We also realize that none of us have all the answers, but we can come to the ancient Scriptures and learn from them the truth about Jesus and the Easter message. Come and listen as we sift through the historical facts and myths surrounding this controversial event.
