Rob,

Thanks for the request. I’ll see what I can do. In the interim I do touch on this briefly in an interview on Godbit:

http://godbit.com/article/drew-goodmanson

Nathan:

You seem to juggle quite a busy schedule, wearing many different hats. How do you balance your roles as founder of Monk Development, pastor at Kaleo Church, and still have time for family?

Drew:

This is an area where I am still learning. There seems to be weeks where I’m engaged with one more than the other based on what is happening. The challenge is when all these roles require my involvement. I wish I had this figured out, but often it means I work a lot of hours. Yet I’m blessed because I work with some of my closest friends at Kaleo & Monk. As for family, my wife and I are in frequent communication about these balances. One of the benefits of working at a company you start is that you don’t have set hours, so I do things like drive my eldest son Gideon to preschool each day and take breaks to play with Roman my youngest. The other day we went to Disneyland as a family and I worked in the evening. Yet, I’m still navigating how to wear multiple hats.

Let me add my thanks for the heads up, and if I may, let me ask if you would consider a topic for further discussion. You've been a champion of tentmaker ministry for church planters.
Since you're an entrepreneur as well as a pastor, I wonder if you would share a bit of your story with particular focus on how you balance your professional and spiritual life between two callings that both demand your time.
From reading your blogs for a long time, I think I'm correct in seeing you as someone specifically called to both endeavors - entrepreneurship and pastoral ministry, and I can see that you find ways for each calling to strengthen your commitment to the other, as your pastoral calling makes you a more effective entrepreneur and your entrepreneurial calling lends strengths to your pastoral ministry and ministry to church planters.
Please consider opening up and writing a bit more about how you handle both callings without either one detracting from the other. I think it would be a fruitful discussion not only for your readers and hearers, but may be good for you as well.
Peace,

Thanks for the heads up on some of the upcoming conferences. There are a couple of them that are fairly close to me. If I can make it I will look for your booth. Blessings on your ministry.
