As a pastor of a growing church in a small town in northern Minnesota, I can tell you that keeping evangelism and outreach as a focus is a continual challenge. You have some great ideas here and I really enjoyed reading this post. It stoked my fire! I love the "fat cats don't hunt" line!

I think you're absolutely correct in this post! Dang man, get outta my head!

I think the most pertinent phrase you wrote was "fat cats don't hunt." That statement alone holds a lot of truth.

If any form of evangelism isn't effective then you have to ask why? God is the one who reaps the harvest. God ordains the call. God does the discipleship of the evangelist, or you may as well go do something else...you're wasting your time.

There is ONE perfect strategy for evangelism. It works every time. OBEDIENCE. OBEDIENCE. OBEDIENCE. Walk in the Spirit and you won't fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Your flesh wants the credit. Remember the weeping prophet.

Western Christians wants a 5 point, bullet version of evangelism. People are sick of it. RELATIONSHIP EVANGELISM WILL CAUSE EVERY CHURCH IN AMERICA TO EXPLODE. CALL ME. I'll prove it. Consistently demonstrate the love of God in living color. Read my lips. There is nothing new!

In my 1st crusade, evangelizing in 1986, 1,300+ people came to Christ in 9 days. 117 came the first time I preached. I just told the people what God said to tell them. The rest is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

Though I have never commented on your site before, I have been reading and benefiting from it for quite some time now. Thanks for your thought provoking post. As someone who is in the planning stages of a church plant your blog is immensely helpful. Peace be with you.

Drew, Great thoughts. We've been dialoging with some of the gospel embracing established churches in our city and trying to encourage them to keep up the fight, but rethink the strategy. This is good fodder.
