I am a planter myself and am working on being able to do something big in Hollywood. I am planning on planting a non-denominational church on Hollywood Blvd, West Hollywood. I have been living in Hollywood for a couple of months and I have noticed there is just 1 Baptist church,1 Catholic, 1 Presbyterian and 4 Scientology churches, within the area of the Hollywood Walk of Fame-Hollywood Blvd/Sunset Blvd. I don’t know about you, but I think it is so unfair that this place that sometimes has more than 100,000 people in a single weekend doesn’t have any churches around. For your information, it is right by the famous Kodak theater, Chinese Theater, El Capitan and the Roosevelt and Renaissance Hotels. My vision is to plant a multi cultural, multi racial church where everyone feels at home no matter where they are from. After all Hollywood is the theater of dreams. But more than just that, a place where the truth of Jesus Christ is told without fear of provoking any body, yet with love and humility. I believe it is time the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is brought into the main scene at this place of extreme belief in self and scientology. The challenge for me is to raise the funds to do the work and meet people of like spirit who will partner with me in this awesome work.It is not easy considering that am a missionary from Uganda and the job am working right now is at the point where I work 6 days a week and the pay barely pays the bills and I can't save any money to use for the church plant. Am thinking of starting the church (Jesus Center Church of Hollywood)in a hotel conference hall, say at the Roosevelt Thompson or any other hotel around. That would cost tons of money to rent I believe, but I know it will be worth it. I have been to music stores around and I found that I can get some sound equipments, including a Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, a set of Drums, Key board, 6 Cordless Mics, and a Mixer for about USD.3000.00 Please keep me in your prayers and if you feel like partnering with me, let me know.
