Drew, am I wrong to think that you are just lashing out because you have low self-esteem? Listen, you are someone and everyone likes you. Now find a mirror. Now whatever you don't read Romans. Because this whole exercise will go to waste and you will believe that you are helpless and in need of a savior besides yourself. We don't that do we?

I see it more and more as I'm on the college campus. Have we over taught on self-esteem?

I'm not sure people see themselves as narcissitic. We all have a better opinion of ourselves than we ought. This might make for a challenge in suggesting that we are sinners in our very core.

Had someone argued with me from Ephesians 2:1ff before I became a Christian, I would have argued that I wasn't a sinner. A good kid, raised in a happily irrelgious home. I thought of myself well.

This presents an opprotunity to rethink how to present sin in our gospel presentations.

Amen.

I don't know if your a Piper fan, but his sermon's on Did Christ Die for Us or For God?
And stuff about God delighting in Himself, are pretty sweet. And I think they tie to this.
