Mega Churches that are Family of God-centric

Have you seen a large church that does a good job of not segregating the family into compartments based on age, gender and sin groups? What does that look like? How can a large church still be a place that is united as a Family of God?
It seems as I visit ‘mega-churches’ they all are program-run and divide the people of God into small groups based on these classifications. I would love to hear if people have seen a large church do this well.

I haven’t seen this done well but I like your categories. It’s true that often churches divide people into ’sin groups’ without even realising it. From what I can see, these large program focused churches seem to be Christ-centered on the outside but when you get up close many of them are quite program/social/internal-focused. It’s the same here in Australia.
Good question. I have not seen such a thing. I cant think of even having seen it medium size churches (what is medium? isnt it 400-700?).
I just read Randy Frazee’s “Connecting Church” and he at least addresses the mixing of generations.
I liked the book at an attempt to combat the anti-communitarian tendancies of suburbia.
Drew, I’ve not seen a mega church keep families together. The influence and power of megachurches creates a “need” for smaller churches to duplicate this dynamic. As a result, we have people in churches as small as 50 people who separate kids from parents as soon as they hit the parking lot.
Question: what is a church to do when the pastor won’t address the needs of the whole family in one meeting? What’s a church to do when the leadership won’t recognize that youth worship differently than retirees? Is the solution a holistic, family-centric service?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
