It demonstrates the flawed tho geniune efforts at mans attempts to redeem himself, wether through misguided altruism, or eveen through 'metaphysical' experience. But perhaps most critically wether intended or not it highlights the evil of our enjoyment of the violent action flick. If you went to see this and were sickened. the perhaps as I you should have found yourself condemned. I love action movies,and revenge plots etc.(heck im a sinner) In real life things are much more like sin city. If you are saddened or sickened by the movie, then perhaps you should look around you, at me or even at yourselves. From a theological perspective,

And although i draw these types of characters also ,it doesn't mean im a satanist or something. Im even the only one in the family who is christian. Its just a hobby or my work. Honestly, i was entertained by the movie, Not so much for the blood spectacles but more for special effects cause thats the thing what make movies work.. and they are well done. The aesthetics alone made me want to see this film, and so on its opening weekend, three of us went and did just that. I wholeheatedly agree with everything you said. I'm typically not one to shy away from violence and the like in films, as long as there is some point to it. However, about halfway through the film, I knew I made a mistake in going. I hold a rather subjective standard in the movies I watch and I like to draw some kind of commentary on life and the human condition when I watch them, but here I found little of any worth. The only think I can figure is that the debauchery and bleak outlook may be the very point: in a skewed and grossly inflated way, that is very well the way people view the world in these "pomo" times.
